Diane Neal was born in Alexandria, Virginia. At a young age, Diane was scouted by a modeling agency and began a career in fashion. She worked around the world and her foray into entertainment began. She became the face and personality for numerous companies. Diane starred in dozens of worldwide and national commercials, attending the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York. Completing her program, Diane quickly found guest starring roles on television shows and TV pilots. In addition, Dimension Films gave her the starring role in the cult movies “Dracula: Legacy” and “Dracula: Ascension." Meanwhile, in New York Diane was also writing, producing, co-directing and acting in a comedy play at the Atlantic Theater Company, Jackassery, then starred in and produced several other plays and began performing stand-up comedy. She was a member of the Women's Shakespeare Company.
Diane then landed the coveted role as ADA Casey Novak on "Law and Order: SVU”, where she remained for nearly 6 seasons. As the longest running female ADA in Dick Wolf’s franchise, Diane built a loyal and dedicated fan following. Diane also produced the short film “Focus” and a full-length play for the NY Fringe Festival that won the "Best Play” award in 2006. Since leaving SVU in 2008, Diane has starred in several hit television shows, and films including, “My Fake Fiancée” and “After” in 2009. With her friends, actor Helene Taylor, and casting director David Waldron, Diane formed Socially Awkward Productions, L.L.C to create film, television and new media. Diane is an undergraduate candidate at Harvard University.
